Dear Colleagues,
We are delighted to announce the 6th Meeting on Emerging Issues in Oncogenic Virus Research, which will be held in San Pietro in Bevagna, Manduria, Italy, from 7 to 12 June 2022.
The success of the first five Emerging Oncogenic Viruses meetings (held in 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, and 2018), together with the enthusiastic support of our colleagues in the oncogenic virus field, has encouraged us to repeat the event in 2022. Like the most recent meeting, in 2018, the meeting will focus on novel oncogenic viruses but will also include new insights on well-established oncogenic viruses.
You are cordially invited to attend this meeting, which is intended for basic researchers (biologists and epidemiologists) as well as clinicians. The meeting is organized and co-sponsored by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) and the German Cancer Research Center (Deutsches Krebsforschungszentrum; DKFZ), with additional support from other international and Italian institutes, as shown below. In particular, the support of the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (Trieste, Italy) in providing fellowships for junior researchers is greatly appreciated.
The objectives of the meeting are to discuss and to critically evaluate the epidemiology, immunology, and biology of cancer-associated viruses.
The official language of the meeting will be English.
The comfortable venue will facilitate casual, unhurried personal interactions, promoting in-depth discussion and providing excellent opportunities to establish new collaborations.
The seaside village of San Pietro in Bevagna is located near the town of Manduria in the province of Taranto, in the Puglia region of southern Italy.
We look forward to welcoming you in Manduria!
The Organizing Committee.
